The appointment of Bergamo and Brescia as Italian Capital of Culture 2023 was born to give a reply to the serious situation that the Covid-19 pandemic, starting from winter 2020, has caused worldwide and in particular in our territory.
Our company has chosen to take part in this great event by supporting a series of concerts entitled Folk Inspiration for Wind Orchestras within the “Bande Insieme 2023” program, organized by the Gaetano Donizetti musical group from Bagnatica and San Pio X° from Cene. It’s a project that includes sounds, voices, dances and local composers.
During the several evenings, each piece by authors from Bergamo or Brescia will refer to historical moments, to the setting, to uses, customs, traditions and musical instruments characteristic and identifying of our territory. The arrangement of the program wants to enhance not only band music, but also the history of the guitar world of Bergamo and Brescia and the whole world of folk and popular music very rich in our territory, including bagpipes and bells, without forgetting dance and song.
