We are proud to join the FSC® Forest Week 2023, an annual event promoted by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) and designed as the international week of responsible forest management, which for this edition is held from 23 to 29 September.
In line with this year’s theme, #TrustTheTree, our company promotes awareness of FSC’s work and highlights the role that each licensee of the brand and forest managers have in the fight against climate change and the loss of biodiversity. Responsible forest management is fundamental in a historical period like ours, characterized by several extraordinary and often unpredictable climatic events.
In fact, it is forests that clean the air we breathe and mitigate the climate change effects, absorbing and storing carbon from the atmosphere. They also filter the water we drink by retaining precipitation and filtering pollutants. When managed properly, they are a renewable source of materials we desperately need for a more sustainable future.
Forests are home to two-thirds of Earth’s plants and wildlife, protecting the biodiversity needed to sustain our planet, while also hosting 300 million people whose communities depend on them for sustenance, food and fuel. and medicines.
